Statement of Reconciliation
The children and staff wrote a shared acknowledgement of country:
"Wominjeka...Thank-you for the land we live, learn and play on. RESPECT!"
Our exclamation 'RESPECT!' is directed to all who help us play in our preschool environment - the land, plants, animals and people from all backgrounds including First Nations Peoples.
Yarra Warra Preschool respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, play and learn - the Wurundjeri people.
We offer our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.
We acknowledge their unique and special place in our nation's historical, cultural and linguistic identity.
Yarra Warra Preschool is developing a Reconciliation Action Plan to build deeper connection with, and understanding of, the traditional owners of Birrarung (Warrandyte's river) and surrounding country; the Wurundjeri, Woi Wurrung people.
