Extended Care Program
Yarra Warra Preschool and Bush Kinder is proud to now offer extended after kindergarten care to meet the needs of the busy families in our community. Our extended care program offers additional hours of care, after kinder sessions.
BENEFITS OF OUR EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM
The program is run by a fully qualified early childhood educator and encompasses all five areas of the Education Departments Early Years Learning Framework.
The benefit of our extended care program is that your child will be provided with quality childcare by our excellent teachers, while still experiencing the benefits of socialising in a smaller group environment with other kids from your community. The aftercare is based on an enrichment program that extends on the Kinder’s creative philosophy. Our educators will also ensure that the children receive some downtime after a busy kinder session.
WHEN IS EXTENDED CARE AVAILABLE?
2023
We offer our extended care after two kinder sessions per week, for our 4 year old program (see session times further below).

2024
Subject to expressions of interest, we're planning to offer two extended care sessions per week respectively for our 3 and 4 year old program.

WHAT WILL MY CHILD DO IN EXTENDED CARE?
The extended care program provides enrichment for your child with a variety of age appropriate activities that are both fun and educationally/developmentally sound. These may include activities such as literacy play involving puppetry and storytelling, gross motor coordination games such as mini obstacle courses, as well as music and movement activities involving singing, dancing and instruments.
WHAT WILL MY CHILD NEED TO BRING?
As your child will be attending after their sessional kinder session, this will be a time of quiet and calm play. We ask you to pack an additional snack for the afternoon.

2023
4 Year Old Extended Care
Expressions of interest for Extended Care will be included with the electronic Enrolment Forms sent by email after acceptance of your Kindergarten place. Places are limited.
2024
As part of the electronic enrolment process, a link to the Extended Care application form will be included for both 3 & 4 year old groups.
This will occur in September once Nillumbik Council have confirmed placements for 2024.
