Extended Care Program
Yarra Warra Preschool and Bush Kinder is proud to offer after kindergarten extended care to meet the needs of families in our community who still want a quality sessional kinder experience for their child. Our extended care program offers additional hours of care, after kinder sessions.
BENEFITS OF OUR EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM
The program is run by a fully qualified early childhood educator and encompasses all five areas of the Education Departments Early Years Learning Framework.
The benefit of our extended care program is that your child will be provided with quality childcare by our excellent teachers, while still experiencing the benefits of socialising in a smaller group environment with other kids from your community. The aftercare is based on an enrichment program that extends on the Kinder’s creative philosophy.
WHEN IS EXTENDED CARE AVAILABLE?
2024
Currently the extended care program is available to three-year-old children after their sessions on Monday and Friday from 2:30 to 4:30pm. For the four-year-old children extended care is available after their sessions on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 4:30pm.
2025
Extended Care will be available to three year old children on Monday and Friday from 2:30 to 5:00pm. For four year old children Extended Care is available on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 5:00pm
WHAT WILL MY CHILD DO IN EXTENDED CARE?
The extended care program provides enrichment for your child with a variety of age appropriate activities that are both fun and educationally/developmentally sound. These may include activities such as literacy play involving puppetry and storytelling, gross motor coordination games such as mini obstacle courses, as well as music and movement activities involving singing, dancing and instruments. Our educators will also ensure that the children receive some downtime after a busy kinder session.
WHAT WILL MY CHILD NEED TO BRING?
As your child will be attending after their sessional kinder session, this will be a time of quiet and calm play. We ask you to pack an additional snack for the afternoon.

Bookings
There are limited places for extended care and bookings are subject to availability.
2025 Extended Care bookings open in October 2024. Applications are taken as part of the Enrolment form and requires a booking fee. To secure a place in extended care, both the form and fee are required.
